Design for Accessibility

Reginé Gilbert is a user experience designer, educator, and author with over ten years of experience working in technology. She is a James Weldon Johnson Professor at New York University. She has a strong belief in making the world a more accessible place that starts and ends with the user. Reginé’s areas of research focus are digital accessibility, inclusive design, and immersive experiences.

Kate Kalcevich is the Head of Accessibility Innovation at Fable, a leading accessibility testing platform powered by people with disabilities. Kate has championed accessibility since 2001. She is an IAAP Certified Web Accessibility Specialist and former UX designer and front-end developer. Kate herself has a hearing disability and is currently focused on delivering custom accessibility training to help teams upskill on accessibility.

David Sloan is UX Practice Manager at TPGi, a global digital accessibility agency and software provider. David manages services that focus on improving the user experience for people with disabilities across a range of digital platforms, from web to kiosk. Services include user research, design reviews, JAWS scripting and he has a particular interest in helping organizations grow accessibility capacity in a deliberate, mature way. David joined TPGi in 2013, and previously spent 14 years as an accessibility researcher, teacher and consultant at the University of Dundee in Scotland, where he completed a PhD researching effectiveness of web accessibility audits as a motivational tool.
