Products and Services Provided

Eyes-Free Text Input and Device Control. Private, Secure and Tactile.

Tap is an eyes-free, private input device that communicates with and controls smartphones or other Bluetooth devices by tapping the fingers of one hand on any surface. The Tap Strap is made of 5 adjustable, soft TPU rings that are connected by a nylon cord that is used to tighten and loosen the strap. The Tap registers which fingers you are tapping using accelerometers and then sends the associated letters or voice over commands to the paired device.

The Tap Alphabet finger combinations are easy to learn with our audible learning app called TapAloud, which is available on the iOS App Store. The simple game and fun mnemonics teach you to tap in about 2 hours of play.

In addition to texting, Tap supports Apple’s VoiceOver capabilities and have created taps for the most commonly used VoiceOver functions - allowing you to text, navigate and control your phone without ever taking it out of your pocket.

Fully Enabled Input Using Just One Hand

Tap is designed to be one-handed and all letters, numbers, symbols and even macros can be inputted with just one hand.

Users can customize the default taps to activate any input, hotkey or combination of keys, and activate them with simple finger taps.

Tap is ambidextrous and can be worn on either hand.

Switch Control and Limited Mobility

Tap integrates seamlessly with iOS’ built-in Switch Control, allowing users with limited mobility to navigate, input and activate apps quicker than ever before.

Switch Control allows users to navigate their iOS device, select items with ease, or even emulate complex gestures like zoom and hard press with simple finger taps. These controls are fully customizable to each user and can be set to any finger combination.

Customize Your Inputs

While Tap already contains the Tap Alphabet by default, users can also easily load and use Customized TapMaps to control, activate, or enhance their existing accessibility software.
These can be anything from screen readers to accessible games to play, making it possible to seamlessly interact with your devices. Choose from existing accessibility maps, create your own, or contact Tap's support team to help make a new custom application.
