Mission
The mission of the Tri-Development Center of Aiken County, Inc. (TDA) is:- To provide, promote and coordinate community services in Aiken County for individuals with autism, head and spinal cord injuries, and intellectual disabilities
- To maximize independence, safeguard and support human rights and dignity, and achieve community inclusion
- To provide education and resources to the public to help in the understanding and prevention of autism, head and spinal cord injuries, and intellectual disabilities.
- Tri-Development Center of Aiken County, Inc. and the Aiken County Board of Disabilities are in compliance with civil rights legislation and provide services with no regard to race, creed, religion, color, age, sex, handicapping condition, or national origin.
Services Provided
TDC provide Day Supports, Residential, Support Services to those in its local community.
Number of People Reached
TDC provides services to approximately 190 people in its residential support and approximately 450 people in its day program. TDC works closely with its sister agency, Aiken County Board of Disabilities, who assist someone in gaining eligibility to services. TDC is continuously providing supports to individuals in need of its services as funds permit and strive to develop to meet the needs of its citizens in Aiken County who have many abilities!
How Donations Are Used
Donations are used to assist with providing services for those individuals who may still not have a funding source identified or those who may find themselves on a waiting list for services. TDC also uses donations to help enhance the services provided and the environments in which they are provided in. TDC also works closely with our community to meet the many diverse needs of the individuals.
Project Spotlight
TDC facilitates Operation North Pole. This is a program that provides help to those in need of a happy holiday season. TDC is currently taking applications for Operation North Pole for those eligible for our services. This is a very rewarding program that we operate.
TDC also provides child car seat car safety and installation of car seats for those in needs.
TDC also operate a commercial bakery out of main day program building. TDC provides excellent baked items and have amazing baskets that serve as wonderful hostess gifts.
Awards Achieved
TDC has won awards that sets it a part in providing excellent customer services in the hospitality business and has received numerous awards for being named by United Way for Campaign of the Year amongst other United Way agencies in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA).
Interesting Facts
Tri-Development Center of Aiken County, Inc. is recognized across the state as being a leader in the provision of services and support to our fellow citizens with disabilities. Its strong advocacy has resulted in more resources and opportunities being made available to people with disabilities in the area that can't be found in many other areas of the state.
At the same time, TDC is equally committed to the prevention of disabilities whenever possible. A concerned community, excellent staff, and a determined clientele have brought TDC to where they are today. The continued efforts of these groups are certain to open even more doors and result in increased opportunities in the future.
