Bill Curtis-Davidson is a Co-Director and Sr. Consultant on Emerging Tech Accessibility at PEAT. In this role, he works to advance the accessibility of emerging workplace technologies, including XR and AI, to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities. He partners with the disability community, tech companies, and the public to advance adoption of inclusive design and promising practices for tech accessibility. He serves on the External Advisory Board of the GA Tech Human-Computer Interaction Degree Program.

Bill will give a talk on October 14th, 2021 titled: “Brave New World: Accessible Immersive Technologies and the Future of Work”. In this talk, Bill will describe how extended Reality (XR) and immersive technologies are poised to reshape how businesses work. At its core, XR joins digital content with the physical world. As organizations accelerate their digital transformations, they can use XR to engage employees and customers in new ways and realize benefits such as improved job training and enhanced collaboration. To ensure people with disabilities can fully participate in this “brave new world”, XR tools must have accessibility features by design. In this talk, Bill Curtis-Davidson will share perspectives on this topic and outline broader community efforts to make sure XR technologies are “born accessible.”

#NameYourPlus

AccessibilityPlus reinforces the concept that accessibility is not the destination: it's the starting point. It's the baseline.

Take part in the #NameYourPlus campaign to tell businesses and the world what is important to you — tell them what you want.

Here's how it works

  1. Take a photo of yourself sharing what is important to you when it comes to a more accessible world.
  2. Use the #NameYourPlus hashtag on Twitter, Facebook, or LinkedIn to contribute your unique voice to the conversation.
  3. Help to change the world.

We will compile all of your "plusses" and we will share them on our social media channels and during the virtual conference. This is your opportunity to contribute to change.
