Mission

PROVAIL believes every one of us has the right to pursue the life we choose to live. Its mission is to support people with disabilities to fulfill their life choices.

Services Provided

PROVAIL's programs meet critical needs and address gaps in services for the disability community. They provide services for children, youth, and adults with a broad-range of disabilities – including those with the most severe disabilities, for whom service options and resources are often limited. The programs PROVAIL offers create a person-centered holistic approach by facilitating a collaborative network of support. Its services focus on three main areas; mobility and communication, home and lifestyle, and employment.

Through its clinic, PROVAIL offers occupational therapy, speech therapy, and technology assessments. They create personalized solutions so that kids and adults can learn the best way to use technology in daily life. They partner with clients, their families, specialists, school districts and employers to facilitate collaborative support for individuals who use assistive technology.

Employment gives people ways to learn new skills and connect with others. PROVAIL's school to work transition programs are an important first step to help people envision their future. PROVAIL job coaches help students explore their interests and build skills. Then, they work with businesses to develop custom jobs and create inclusive workplaces where everyone benefits.

The Community Living Program allows people with disabilities to live in the community with access to the support they need. People get to decide their own lifestyle, routines, hobbies and be both more independent and more included.

How Many People Reached

Each year, PROVAIL reaches 1,700 children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities across the Puget Sound area.

How Donations Are Used

Inclusion takes a village. The range of supports that PROVAIL provides to individuals with disabilities are not fully funded. Donations are used to ensure all of their services are available and accessible to everyone who needs them.

Project Spotlight

In response to COVID-19, each of its departments have adapted to continue meeting the needs of their clients. Most namely is its incorporation of telehealth and virtual services. Telehealth has become a primary method for PROVAIL's clinical and assistive technology services, and as students begin to return to school virtually, they are supporting five school districts to ensure students with disabilities are supported to continue learning. Telehealth has broadened our reach by making many of our programs available to those who were unable to access our services in person before.
