It’s believed that there are several genes that can be responsible for X-linked intellectual disability and that frequency is roughly 1 in 600-to-1,000 males.
X-linked intellectual disability, Siderius type often causes delayed development of motor skills or speech, and males with the condition may also have a cleft lip and cleft palate, a long face, a sloping forehead, a broad nasal bridge, a prominent lower forehead bone, upslanting corners of the eyes, lower-set ears, or large hands, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
There are seven new genes that can cause this condition, and mutations of those genes can cause various types of intellectual disability, according to ScienceDaily.
