3 Reasons Why You Should Attend AccessibilityPlus 2021

Written by Lori Litz, Director of Conferences | July 1, 2021

There are many conferences on accessibility and disability inclusion. They often provide reasons through passionate speakers who are leaders within the accessibility industry on why your business should be more accessible to people with disabilities. In addition, they offer you astounding facts such as: "One billion people, or 15% of the world's population, experience some form of disability" (World Bank), or "A market bigger than China, the Disability Market influences over $13 trillion in annual disposable income" (WFA).

The year is 2021. Whether your organization is more likely to be motivated by disability demographics, the threat of accessibility lawsuits, or the vast and underappreciated market, the time is now to put real accessibility into practice — in all aspects of internal and external spaces and interactions.

To that end, here are three reasons why you should attend the AccessibilityPlus 2021 virtual conference put on by Accessibility.com this October:

  1. AccessibilityPlus 2021 will go beyond the statistics and astonishing facts on why accessibility should be front of mind for you; it will provide you with actionable items on how to implement some quick wins immediately and long-term success.
  2. Our speakers are advocates and allies for the disabled community; they are business leaders who have led change within their organization and share how you can achieve accessibility in your business.
  3. Each day is being meticulously crafted to bring as much value as possible. Day 1 is all about showcasing, understanding, and embracing assistive technology. Day 2 will teach you how to create an inclusive workforce by recognizing, from attracting talent to creating a workplace where people with disabilities actually want to work. Day 3 is about putting accessibility into action at your organization, making it scalable and measurable.

AccessibilityPlus 2021 will be on October 12th, 13th, and 14th and is entirely virtual — so you may attend from anywhere. The conference will be fully accessible, including closed-captioning and ASL (American Sign Language). You can save your spot today — full registration opens July 12th. And, the first 500 people to register can attend at no cost!

The conference will feature highly-prominent speakers from within the accessibility community (detailed list forthcoming!), entertainment, and an exhibitor hall where attendees may visit vendors that offer services to assist in accessibility.
